DIAMOND / OPTICS

Highest optical performance in waveguides and laser technology

Optics for beam guidance and forming are basic components of photonic systems in many laser-based production processes. As a result of increasing power densities as well as increasing demands on lightweight construction and durability, conventional optical materials such as quartz are reaching their limits.

Because of its extremely high transparency, of its high refractive index and excellent thermal conductivity as well as its hardness and durability, monocrystalline diamond shows unique properties for applications in photonic devices, waveguides, single photon-emitter, nano-photonic circuits and laser crystals with red, green and yellow color. Integrated photonic structures made of single crystal diamond in combination with nitrogen vacancy centers (NV) will improve the sensitivity by orders of magnitude in the field of nuclear spin resonance (NMR).

Diacara will advise you on the possibilities of diamond for your optical application, the correlated technologies for integration and structuring of diamond as well as with respect to hetero-integration by wafer bonding.
