DIAMOND / ELECTRONIC APPLICATIONS

"The wide-band gap semiconductor"
power and high-frequency electronics

Diamond is the ideal material for electronic and especially power-electronic components – both in high-energy and high-frequency applications.
For example, Schottky diodes made of diamond can hold approximately eight-fold higher blocking voltages than diodes made of SiC and others.
The quality indicators for electronic applications resulting from electrical and thermal material properties are far higher than those of Si, SiC, and GaN (see Table).

Due to its truly bipolar properties and extremely high mobilities, applications in high frequency devices like satellite communications are expected. In addition diamond-based power electronics can be operated even at high temperatures without additional cooling.

Diacara will introduce you the exciting potential of diamond in electronic applications.
